“Emotional Intelligence: Yale’s Leadership” a media exhibit at the CSSSI, Oct., 2013 – Feb., 2014
The Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence proudly carries on Dr. Peter Salovey’s decades of research on the refinement, measurement, and practical applications of emotional intelligence, which he and Dr. John Mayer first proposed in 1990. The exhibit illustrates Dr. Marc Brackett’s RULER approach which teaches individuals the skills of recognizing, understanding, labeling, expressing, and regulating emotions. It includes a set of tools – Mood Meter, Meta-Moment, Charter and Blueprint – designed to promote classrooms with healthier climates, teachers who use enhanced teaching methods, and students who perform better academically. Images of teachers and students are depicted and a timeline of research on emotional intelligence is presented.
