Celebrate international GIS day with workshops and events at Yale! GIS Day is an opportunity for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate and explore the many applications of geospatial approaches to research, practice, and problem-solving.
The festivities begin with hands-on workshops and webinars on November 13, featuring an introduction to geospatial analysis, data visualization, geocoding, and tools including SimplyAnalytics, Story Maps, and Tableau Public.
On November 15, join us for a keynote by “The Father of Map Algebra,” Dana Tomlin; talks by Hugh Keegan (Esri), Molly Burhans (GoodLands), and Robert Cheetham (Azavea); lightning talks; a spatial fair; a map competition; the opening of the new CSSSI digital exhibit on geospatial approaches at Yale; and the now-famous GIS Day Cake Reception. There will also be a “mappy hour” at Mory’s.
